Yes, on weekend they charge 1%. I remember there was also an additional 1% charge for rare currencies. For free accounts there was also a monthly limit on exchange volume. Also various plans have different ATM free withdraval limits. If there is an additional charge it is just added to the amount charged in the base currency.
Why not to use Revolut? I keep there around $50 only and top it up if I need more. Exchange rate is great, works everywhere and very easy to open an account (for certain countries).
AirBnb imo is not the best option there. I used Booking. Just checked that the apt I lived 2 years ago is $23 per night now - earlier it was around $19.
On Phuket in Patong you can rent a nice studio under $20 per day. Or 10k THB per month if you rent it for a long term.
In Asia two things are really cheap (and often surprisingly cheap) - accommodation and restaurants. Other life expenses are pretty high. On Phuket if you stay there alone for a couple of months with a moderate entertainment (sometimes boat trip, good restaurant etc.) a realistic budget is $600 for an apt and $900 for other expenses for a month.
Times Square
When I found the amazing wild beach at the Southern part of Playa (a bit outside of the city) then I decided to stay there longer. The best place in the whole Riviera Maya IMO. Maybe moving does not worth it?
In Poland it is possible to pay around 20% of tax and be a tax resident while residing 0 days a year in the country.
Russia. Especially North-Western parts. Towns look like a nuclear disaster happened there. It is not just dirty but everything is literally ruined. But the nature around is amazing.
