I dual boot fedora with plasma (it has all my laptop drivers without me having to install anything) with Windows and it’s pretty great, but I was out of Linux for a long time and there’s things I don’t remember. So I’m missing stuff and don’t have the time to relearn what I knew 20 years ago.

It works well enough for day to day tasks and dev work. Windows works well enough to run some games.

I’m still waiting for all the stuff from inbox to make it to the rest of Gmail.

I don’t believe in any of that, but I know which one sounds like a movie villain and which one sounds like he’s probably not so bad but it’s persecuted by a bullying piece of garbage.

My case has a kick stand. If I’m holding it too long and not docking it I’m not ashamed to just prop it up, hook up an external controller, and keep playing.

I agree with everything here. I just want to leave behind a little nugget for anyone searching in the future that runs across this after searching 4k.

My deck would run 4k for a few minutes on my TV. Then it would disconnect from the dock. I actually didn’t realize I had it in 4k because I had set it to 1280x800 manually on another dock back when I got it.

I had a hard time figuring out why my new dock seemed to be busted. A friend who had recently ran into the same issue told me to change my resolution and suddenly everything worked.

All I could find searching for it was people complaining that their dock cut out on them intermittently.

I’ve already got the emulator and the most of the SNES games downloaded (I grabbed a big pack of them). It’s just currently not where she can see it because, as you said, I’m playing for time.

It’s really only one night a week when she comes by after we get drunk at the bar that we play at the same time. So I’d have like 4 weeks where I wouldn’t need to worry about it. Plus I’ve got a few two player games where I can dock it and we can play together. That’ll buy me another couple of weeks. By then either I’ll have her convinced or I’ll just shell out the cash for a second one.

I loved iGoogle. I had my feeds set up just how I liked them. Then I moved to protopage when that went to the graveyard. Then a bunch of things (not everything) stopped updating.

I went back to check it out a few weeks ago and even fewer things were updating. A lot of places just let RSS fall by the wayside.

I ended up setting up a couple of emulators on an old laptop so I could have it back. She’s more of a gamer than I am and I’ve just about got her convinced to grab a deck for remote play on her PS5. If I don’t convince her soon I’m getting a second one because I know I’m gonna lose it again once she’s done with NES.

My favorite was invented by a friend of mine as far as I know. It’s a modified cheesesteak. Like a Tex Mex cheesesteak I guess.

Start by smoking a prime rib. The method is outside the scope of this discussion but I’ll happily share another time. Slice it super thin, season with SPG and cumin. We don’t smoke a prime rib just for the sandwiches, but we always have them when we have leftovers.

Separately, make some smoked queso. Again, this is outside the scope but don’t just do Velveeta and Rotel, make a bechamel sauce add your cheeses, and use fresh tomatoes and peppers, then pop the pan on the smoker to get the smokey flavors infused.

Pop some butter, onions, bell pepper, jalapeno, garlic, and mushrooms in a pan to saute. Once they’ve softened add the thin slices of smoked rib roast and cook for another minute or two.

Put the mixture on a toasted hoagie roll and cover liberally with smoked queso and a sprinkle of grated Oaxacan cheese. Enjoy your delicious heart attack.

Note: this can be done the poor man’s way with cheaper or easier cuts of beef (try it with a chuck eye steak which is several dollars per pound cheaper) or chicken, and can be done with Velveeta and Rotel queso that more people are familiar with. You’ll get no judgement from me. I just love it a specific way and wanted to share.

If someone were angry about what they’re doing (not me, I’ve been through this so many times on so many sites that I’m apathetic) they could definitely put a coordinated effort into filling the subs that admins take over with anime titties to prove a point.
