There’s no way for it to tell you if the username is already taken at the moment so that could be an issue. Could also be you need to click an email?

I tried the thunder app for lemmy and was disappointed to see it showed a total “karma” number. I’d been enjoying not having a running total. I like seeing my comments and posts get appreciated but I see no need for it all to add up.

One of the things I liked about the fediverse was I was less likely to be told I’m farming karma. I just like posting things that I think will promote a discussion.

Try setting the comment language to English. If that doesn’t work try setting it to undetermined.

Do you have both indétermined and English set in your profile?

Should users happen to decide on the third option, /r/Pics will officially become /r/PICS; “Posts Illustrating Community Sentiment.” Literally anything that doesn’t break the site-wide rules will be allowed… so while you’ll still be able to share your three-act musical about John Oliver, you’ll also be able to share AI-generated videos of anime girls yodeling (for example).

/r/ModCoord is officially recommending recreating communities elsewhere now. Likely related. Though others have said it’s just delayed reporting. Maybe a bit of both.
