There has been a cost of living crisis/housing crisis which allows bad faith actors to push the narrative that it’s specific out groups are to blame instead of government policy of allowing the rich to loot the country.

And even then, most other developed countries are having similar issues in the years post-covid (and the disruptions that accompaniedit).

Is that really the best we can hope for?

Except it didn’t make more jobs, it just made more work for the remaining employees who weren’t laid off (because the boss thought the AI could let them have a smaller payroll)

They’re literally just wasting time and money.

They’re also muddling the waters.

you’re more likely invested in the future if you have children.

There’s plenty of examples of people who will throw their kids under the bus in exchange for wealth and power.

I think candidates for office should have to pass those tests.

Tests administered publicly with no lifelines available.

So we should make policy based on what people believe rather than on what’s objectively true?

I don’t regret my decision to cut cable many years ago.

And it was crap like this that helped me make that choice (along with ever increasing prices and the worsening ad-to-content ratio)

Those hate speech laws have been on the books for a lot longer than Trudeau has been involved in politics.

and often includes a food court and shops that are before security.

It’s been years since I’ve seen any food or retail on temperature non-secure side of any airport.

You realize walking into an airport is no different than walking into a mall?

I haven’t been to an airport in years where food was available outside the secure side.

The “unity” they’re calling for is to fall in line behind them and stop interfering with their power grab.

I refuse to believe economists have the best of intentions in mind when they write in absolutes

The same can be said for most professions when they think in terms of absolutes.

The world isn’t binary, and treating it in those terms almost always creates worse outcomes.

And over 450 of those traitors have been convicted and tossed in jail (so far…)

Politicians hide themselves away.

They only started the war.

Why should they go out to fight?

They leave that all to the poor.

Policing is, and always has been reactive. And that’s how it is intended to be, by design.

Complaining that it’s not preventing crime isn’t really helpful, since that’s not what it’s supposed to do.

If you want prevention, you need to look elsewhere.

That said, the things that do actually prevent crime have been studied for centuries and are well known.

The problem is none of those are cheap quick fixes, and when governments change every 4 years, those programs tend get cut for ideological reasons, and arent given the time to become deeply effective.

Yeah, but it’ll take a few weeks for those to get here on the slow boat from China.

He’s not above lying.

Lying is one of the things he has a lot of practice doing.

He’s not very good at it, though, he contradicts his lies with other lies on a regular basis.
