However, I don’t really understand the ‘pay off your credit card every few days’ thing. Unless there’s something I don’t know about from a security standpoint, it’s good to keep transactions unpaid-off on your card until your statement comes in and then pay it off then (<~25% utilization), so that the card issuer sees that you’re utilizing the card.

I have Visible’s basic plan, am abroad right now (UK), and bought a data-only plan. So it sounds like basically the same situation you’ll find yourself in.

If I ever need to access SMS codes, I go back to my Visible plan, turn on airplane mode but be connected to wifi, turn on WiFi Calling, and bang, I receive the SMS texts.

WiFi Calling is for both texts and calls. So if you ever need to call someone or an entity, you’d just put in the country code.

I’ve spent a good chunk of the year in the UK and have struggled to keep up with American time zones, so I’m going home for the holidays and then choosing a more time-zone-conducive location. Thinking Buenos Aires!
