Of course there was some violence. You think the cops are going to be peaceful? Ha!

They said they did not know it was slave labor. Do you believe them?
I read two articles and didn’t see any indication that the store managers or HR employees were actually investigated. Until there’s an investigation, I’m going to use common sense, which suggests that several people (or more) knew something was extremely wrong.
You just said nothing at all, my friend. Were you accusing the poster? Was it satirical? Was it serious? Nobody knows. Who is the clown? Is it OP? Is it yourself, the general public, some sucker who replied to you?
Which is a nice example of how the Internet is weird. Not great for making a point, tho. :-)
If only there were a way to search specifically for videos. That would be convenient.
Right right. That’s what they were trying to do. And they died. So what are you going on about?
You have to make some assumptions for your question to make sense. If all you want is lines on a map, that could in theory happen tomorrow. Various political leaders could agree to it. But lines on maps don’t change what’s happening on the ground.
So I think the short answer to your question is, it might look exactly like today. But if you want to add in some details to your hypothetical, if you want to establish that there are peacekeeping forces or that various factions are disarmed, or some means of reducing violence and increasing human aid, that would continue in the medium and long term, then you might have an interesting question. The problem is that until you specify those details there’s no way to answer the question you’re asking, because everything depends on the structure of the country.
My cats treat me like a big cat. That’s why they brush up against my leg, for example. Or wake me up at 6AM on Sundays.
I’m not the master. But they don’t want to disrupt the harmony, and I’m the biggest, so they usually avoid doing things that irritate me, if I’m there to see it happening.
Well yeah. If she copies Hillary, maybe she’ll get what Hillary got.
Maybe sell half.
Jesus. They’re the news. Why would they show stories about things you don’t need to watch? … /rant
Is it any less reliable than other state-affiliated news agency? Maybe. Depends on your perspective.
You can file complaints with NLRB or civil suits about lots of things, but the details matter if you want to go anywhere with them. For the most part, unionizing and union related activities are protected actions, within reason as defined by law. If your action is union related, and they fire you, and you have some reason of evidence that it happened in that way, then you might want to look into following up on it.
As always, expect your bosses and HR to lie about what happened. It’s really good if you have video evidence, or at least multiple witnesses, and certainly take notes right after having any such incident.
I hope that you’re right, because in 20 years that will no longer be true, and maybe we’ll be able to make real progress on housing at that point.
It’s more pointless than bad, I would think.
Why wear a thong for your workout? … Err, what kind of training are you up to, anyway? :-o
Remember, this is actually a question of what to do about a coup d’etat. Undercutting basic democracy is not a question of law, but a question of who will use force how much force to address it.
Normal people don’t care about “the economy”. To hell with the yachts. We care about working conditions and pay/benefits vs. cost of living.
The doctor.
Maybe we watched the news and saw it happen. Egads!
