Yes, that’s right. Most men’s shoes have a 1-2 cm lift in the heel but having no lift (flat front to back) is much easier on your back.
Injinji typically when I wear socks. I don’t wear socks with my vff - I just wash them super regularly. I only wash them cold so they don’t warp but I soak them in a laundry sanitizer first to kill any odor-causing bacteria.

I thoroughly enjoy being in Japan for this reason. So peaceful. People speak quietly and specifically try not to make any loud noises in public. It’s always so jarring getting back to the states and listening to my loud Texan father-in-law lol.
