classic 80/20 rule. You don’t need 100% of your users gone, but if your top posters/contributors leave or don’t interact as much the other 80 will feel it. For now quality content was the padding that made the corporate marking palatable. But as OC leaves it’s just gonna be more and more filler.
Id rather a key bump of pure lemmy internet than a kilo of babypowder and movie marketing.
I think Apple TV said fuck it let’s get back in to short stories in terms of tv. Everyone else tried to create the next Friends or whatever 12 season drama people watched on cable.
Short stories are great because they leave you wanting more.

I think I meant, discord will be the best way to redirect users to other platforms. Reddit is obviously silencing talk of alternatives and people here might also link “reddit” discords here to keep some continuity

13·1 year agoIt also has something Reddit has been losing. Which is the small town feel. More people now even migrate to discord from Reddit. There was a time when on Reddit I felt like real people interacted. Now it all feels astroturfed.
Also, if they are suppressing mentions via Reddit just mention it on discord
