I thought language filters are built into Lemmy directly. Log in to your instance and you can see it there. I think the bigger problem is posts or communities need to be tagged with a language and most are defaulting to “unknown”, so if you filter for only English you’ll lose most of the communities out there.

  • I doubt it will go anywhere. The HN discussion brings up some good points such as the fact that this is “based on precedence from another incident”, so it hasn’t been confirmed. And then a lot of the damage is SLA based which CrowdStrike can argue where was the conpany’s DR plans and accepted RTO and why didn’t they have them or execute them. There’s a lot that will get lost in legal hell for years to come.

  • You just sound stuck up when you say that. Like “is windows still a thing? I didn’t know because I use Linux. Don’t you?”

Of course Google is still a thing, by far it’s still the largest search engine in use on the planet, so most people won’t notice it. If anything, this hurts all the not-Google users. Can you imagine if different sites started signing exclusivity deals with different search engines?
