It certainly has been in the past. And it’s mostly the retail places not the bodegas that I see shutdown… but still it was pretty rough.
Was recently in Manhattan. Compared to that, Vancouver is a paradise. Some of the worst streets ther 7 out of 10 places boarded or abandoned. Worst of all. Its only chain places that survived. Part of the appeal of Manhattan is all the places run by locals and the lack of chains everywhere. It got “better” the more expensive the neighborhood was of course. Ultimately a huge win for Capitalism and consolidation of wealth.
Not all revolutions require blood, but I feel like capitalism is going to fight real hard to stay around. Even though that’s exactly what needs to go

Honestly it’s a nice walk even without the birds. It’s also late fall on a sunny day. You can see lots of nests and into areas foliage usually blocks

I spent a few weeks playing through the three expansions after not playing for 8 years. (My inbox was full of years of free stuff)
It’s really quite good. I don’t need to get deep into some grind system, which it definitely has. But the story was quite good and the world building is fantastic. Even the combat was fun.
It’s worth checking out, I think.
If I’m being honest it’s probably been a decade since I participated in New on reddit. It was just so much… but I don’t mind putting in some work again.
