Are you with the union? I’m just a new apprentice, so I don’t really know shit about shit yet, but my journeyman says that would absolutely count as required training, and he said that if our boss had a problem with paying for it, he would take it up with the hall. As far as non-union rules and state laws go I would have no idea, but hopefully you find something out there to help you get paid, bc it kinda sounds like you’re being taken advantage of.
