Of course, that’s one aspect of it, my comment isn’t about policy. I’m sure we both agree on what needs to happen in terms of policy.
I’m just pointing out that there doesn’t really seem to be enough support for such plans or policies.
I can’t help but think from a scientific perspective that when a population is forced to fight for resources, aggression in that population also increases.
In the most basic terms, how would you expect a colony of mice to react in a scenario like this? A dwindling supply of food, along with a shrinking supply of shelter… I’d expect to see a steady increase in violence over time.
I can’t see this ending well, and I certainly have felt a steady degradation of hospitality and compassion in the last decade or so.
Is there even a way to combat this? I feel like the cultural zeitgeist has been so polluted with individualism it’s almost impossible to get the general public to agree to policies that don’t directly benefit themselves.

Yeah, I didn’t know that chocolate and shrimp weren’t supposed to burn when I ate them until I was about 21 when it finally clicked. Both of which were foods I enjoyed. 🤷
Genuinely confused. It has a fresh scent/flavor. Would I be upset if soap smelled like it? No?? I mean I think some soaps smell like cilantro, but it’s not like taking a bite out of an Irish spring bar… Can’t tell if I have the soap gene or not, like what kind of soap is it supposed to taste like?
Probably 90% from my personal experience, I see loads of LGBTQ posts on RedNote. I wonder if they’re being sensored or just waiting to go through the moderation queue.
I could see English posts maybe accumulating negative sentiment scores or even just a lack of known words causing a post to end up in a moderation queue.
For reference sentiment scores are basically a numeric way of scoring a post. Words like “hate” get -10 points neutral words get 1 point, and positive words like love and friendship get +10 points. At least when I was in college, this was a popular way for social media to determine if they should push your content or not.
