  • It’s a fusion genre that’s been around since the 90s, popularized by bands like Massive Attack, Portishead, and Tricky. Bjork also falls under it often.

    It draws inspiration from a whole ton of genres like hip-hop, soul, jazz, and dub. The most well known song is probably Teardrop by Massive Attack (since it’s the intro to House). It’s a pretty large underground genre nowadays. I also really like Morcheeba, Sneaker Pimps, Hooverphonic, and Thievery Corporation (though they’re kinda their own genre)
