Caught up with an old colleague for drinks tonight. We had a good gossip / bitching session about our previous employer, both of who we had problems with, and talking about how much better we are off now.
Then I was craving noodles for dins - still thinking about how good this was. Hit the spot.
Strange person at gym, interrupting me mid set by waving their hands in front of me: can you please guard this machine for me, I’ll be in [other area] for maybe 10 minutes in case someone takes machine.
How about you come back to the machine when you’re ready to use it?
I got me some cargo pants the other week, they’re back in and the extra pockets are so practical.

Rudely awoken this morning by neighbour cutting tiles on their front lawn. Seriously can’t they give it a rest with the renovations on a Saturday? I really wanted a sleep in.
Still managed a gym session but I had shower scrubbing on the cards today and need to motivate myself to do it.
Electric heat pump unit. My usage went from $$$ (old gas guzzling unit) to peanuts. Pays itself off very quickly and there was a government rebate for switching.
Have a look at BankWest’s everyday account. They have no foreign transaction fees, free ATM withdrawals (excluding ATM operator fees) and importantly, no minimum deposit or use requirements to activate these benefits. With ING, last I looked, you need to jump certain hurdles to get the foreign use benefits.
Macquarie’s everyday account may have the same benefits as BankWest, double check this because then you don’t need to open a new account.
I also take a credit card as a backup and I use it for any hotel or car rental security deposits that get refunded - look at Latitude 28 Degrees. No foreign transaction fees again.
So many responsible bed times then there’s me still up and wired.
Phone and keys mainly, a Myki card and headphones if I’m using PT. If I’ve got a shoulder bag with me, might have my wallet, gum, tissues, a snack.
Have a potluck dinner tomorrow and put my hand up for making dessert. It’s an hour door-to-door travel and I was going to make tiramisu but was worried it might go bad out of the fridge for that long. So I’m going to make this tomorrow morning. It looks good and will transport well, hopefully it’s a hit.
Anyone got any office chair recommendations? Time for an upgrade with EOFY sales. Not looking to spend crazy money. My current chair is a cheapie from Officeworks which has served me well during the COVID years, but starting to get worn down and uncomfortable.
Sunset in northern Europe (London etc) during their winter solstice is like 4pm. Now that’s depressing for living in a major city, don’t think I could handle that.

Something strange just happened. From the corner of my eye while watching TV I saw a flash in the sky. Thought it was lightning. About 20 seconds later all of my house lights quickly flashed off and on.
Looking at the radar there’s no thunderstorms around. So what was that? 👽

Massive day playing a tournament for my social sports league. Someone in my team (who I hadn’t played with before) was so full on, correcting people on their technique when they were not playing flash themselves. Of course I want to do well but I’m there playing mainly for fun and this person was a huge negative presence. As soon as anyone made a mistake she was in their grill with her criticism. Super draining and not the only one who felt that way. If you’re going to take the role of the experienced know it all, then make sure you can talk the talk.
Then we went out after with all the teams for some drinks. Some very icy vibes thrown my way, probably because I started to get frustrated with their behaviour and it may have came out in my tone of voice during game play. Oh well. On my way home and ready for bed.
