  • I am exhausted 24/7 but i am still showing up for work because i can’t afford not too. Climate science is pretty bleak, were on the brink of ending the existence of our and other species (though indeed the planet will likely survive this)

We do not need to eat live-animal meat anymore, alternatives (like labgrown meat mentioned in the article) exists and are doable. The only reason we can’t have it is because of strict laws supported by bigmeat lobbyists. Italy has banned alternatives because they are convinced it cant TASTE as good as real FLESH. That is a choice.

Humanity is developed enough to make such choices and we are living one of them right now, and it ain’t a morally defendable one.

I love to eat meat btw, i don’t think i could handle being vegetarian.

  • Oh no, the execution and information thus far has been horrible. You are alluding to blockchain are you? When i look at the website you post i see absolutely nothing that i even recognize as web3 its all cryptostuff.

I don’t get why everybody is so hell-bend on blockchain based internet (sure its decentralized but come on, we’re creative enough to do better). Its like people don’t get the point of “user owned” and are expecting companies to build a better internet for them without serving their own interests.

No, we are going to need to do this ourselves, self host our own data and services, open source everything.

Lemmy and the fediverse are the closest i have seen to being proto web 3 in spirit and there are also still far from perfect.

I have read the “What is web3” from that site and could not disagree on the definition more. I would not be suprised if both the blockchain cults and this website are part of the propaganda machine that is stopping a free internet from happening.

My web3 is aligned much more with this: https://www.fsf.org/blogs/community/user-liberation-watch-and-share-our-new-video

  • I don’t judge people who give in to the oppressor. Life is hard and you have to pick your battles, more important stuff then blocking ads for “normal” people.

For me its largely a disability/accessibility thing. The whole site is not usable.

Its not that i want to die on this hill its that corporate bullshit is measurably detrimental to my health. My hill is the only one i can exist on.

  • First, did you read even the research papers?

Secondly, none are out that are actually immune to jailbreaking lol, Where did that claim come from?

Gpt4 is just an llm. Indeed the better version of gpt3

Gpt4o and 1o (claude-sonnet possibly also) rely on the generative capacities of the gpt4 model but there is allot more going under the hood that is not simply “generate the next token”

We all agree that a pure text predictor are not at all intelligent.

The discussion at hand is wether the current frontier of ai has moved the needle up. And i still would call it pretty dumb, but moving that needle, it did. Somewhere around (x2y0.5) if i have to use the meme. Stating its (0,0) just means people aren’t interested enough to pay attention, that these aren’t just llm anymore. That’s their right but i prefer people stopped joining the discussion so uninformed.

  • Sorry to burst your bubble:

Claude: "This gibberish text is meant to be humorous by parodying actual cooking tips. It plays on the common kitchen tip of placing a wooden spoon across a pot to prevent it from boiling over, but twists it into an absurd and incomprehensible statement.

The humor comes from the contrast between presenting this as useful advice for new independent adults and the actual nonsensical content. It’s a playful way of poking fun at the challenges of learning to cook and live independently, as well as the sometimes confusing nature of cooking tips and tricks."

I just uploaded the picture and asked to explain it.
