    If you want to get that semantic, the second they said the words they completed their “try” and did define him as a selfish man.

      Oh, I didn’t even think about it that way. I wasn’t arguing with you, I was giving other examples of things that are well-known and acting as though they’re in doubt.

      I 100% agree with your comment and was just giggling along with the ridiculousness of the headline.

      Like, “trying to define Trump as a fraud” is like trying to define fish as good swimmers: maybe sometimes they aren’t, but it’s pretty much all they do.

        Absolutely the headline is ridiculous. Apologies for the misunderstanding.

        Most time you use try when someone fails or has yet to do something, nyt is so biased lately.

          I should apologize for being so ambiguous!

          I should test out this kind of language on my wife:

          I tried to get to the bathroom before I pissed the bed last night.

          I tried cooking you some eggs.

          I’m sure it’ll be really healthy for our relationship.

          NYT isn’t just biased, they’re downright abusive
