True, but a lot of players feel that his absurdist name was a nod to DMs trying to come up with names at the last minute. I’ll paste this comment from reddit, since I think the OP nailed the sentiment.
DM: “Alright, the parole council is led by Councillor So-and-so, and Ser Such-and-such is present as well. What do you do?”
Players: “Hey, didn’t you mention an Aarakocra, what’s his name?”
DM: “Uhhh… John… I mean… Jarn…a…than? Yeah, Jarnathan!”
Ah fair enough, that sounds plausible and I might even have thought so myself at one point. I was thinking in context of the characters in the scene not the DnD game being played.
I mean Jarnathan was actually the name of one of the judges though
