I’m not sure which of these two is worse, honestly. Maybe DeSantis, because he shows not only the willingness, but also the capacity to veer the USA towards a theocracy within a term? He also seems a bit more…’electable’, since he hasn’t led an actual insurrection against the USA.
DeSantis is way more dangerous. He’s evil but not stupid. Many of the terrible things Trump tried to do failed due to sheer incompetence. DeSantis on the other hand has been very effective at his plans for, and I use the word advisedly, outright fascism starting with Florida. The only thing holding him back is a lack of charisma and grifter talent, but don’t discount his potential for destruction.
I agree with this. As evil as Trump is, he was rather ineffective. DeSantis, on the other hand…he’s legitimately terrifying, because he seems like the kind of guy who wouldn’t my even have needed something like the January 6 riots.
