i suppose it might vary place to place, but i’ve always had a lovely time at the northern california one, and there’s always been plenty of other visibly trans people as well. you should absolutely do it.

i wish. it used to be held in a proper forest back when i was a kid, but now it’s held considerably further south in the hot, dry realm of Hollister. It’s still a lot of fun, but i wouldn’t wear one of the big over the top nobility outfits there unless i got it suped up with a liquid cooling system like the queen has.
