Republican congressman Mike Johnson of Louisiana has been elected House speaker. Republicans eagerly gave Johnson the gavel on Wednesday by a vote of 220-209, with a few absences.

Tell the GOP to stop calling all women whores under their breath and perhaps we can talk about unity and compromise.
