Sen. Tommy Tuberville is waging an unprecedented campaign to try to change the Pentagon's abortion policy, employing maneuvers to hold up hundreds of military nominations and promotions.
You remember when McConnell held up all Obama’s judicial picks, then opened the floodgates when they could stack the courts with conservative judges? That’s exactly what Tuberville is doing with the military.
Not quite every Republican, at least based on their public statements. There are some Republicans who have come out very vocally against the holds. Conveniently for Coach, though, there are not yet enough Republican votes to get to a supermajority.
We’ll see if Chuck ever puts a rules change forward soon, that’s when we’ll know whether those Republicans are serious about the military, or whether Coach just gave them a hall pass to distract us all over the issue.
Who could have ever guessed that a dumbfuck football coach from Alabama wouldn’t be a great pick for the senate?

Makes sense. Journalists act like “tuberville is doing this all by himself!”… but he has the support of every Republican.

Unfortunately we know from past experience that they’re not serious about any useful thing, only power to accomplish things that are not good ideas.
Oh fuck, does that mean they’re trying to perform another coup and are planning it? That’s kind of what it sounds like you’re saying.
They don’t intend to let the next one fail.
Not Alabama voters, apparently.
Ah yes, the intellectual powerhouses in the 46th best
schoolstate for education.FWIW this is more a dunk on republicans. They want it this way, if you had an education you wouldn’t vote for them.
But it takes big smarts to be a coach!
Alabama voters are not exactly known for their great political picks.
As an Alabama alumni, I agree.
Tubervilles dumbass thinks he is making a name for himself, in very tragic fashion.
