Thirty-nine state committee members signed the petition for a special meeting. The purposes of the event, according to the request, include the “possible removal of Kristina Karamo” and three other individuals who’ve been guiding the Michigan GOP under Karamo.

…severe fundraising shortfalls and widening internal divisions have defined her first nine months in the job. Karamo has taken committee assignments away from some of her opponents, has criticized past donors to the party and failed to make good on a campaign promise of obtaining funding from 500,000 “likely-Republican business owners.”

The Michigan Republican Party had about $35,000 in its bank accounts in August, according to bank records previously obtained by The Detroit News. And a former member of the Michigan GOP’s budget committee, Jessica Barefield of Livingston County, said in November, the party was facing "imminent default’ on its line of credit.
