Date who you want to date, and don’t worry about what others are doing.

I do not see it as transphobic as I find the word transphobic a bigot word. It is improperly trying to imply other people are mentally ill. Phobias are mental illness. I do not think making light of mental illness is funny, as it has a stigma in society. It is trying to imply super straight people are mentally ill rather than it’s the way we are born.

I would never date a trans person. That doesn’t make me transphobic. I am not scared of trans people at all. My orientation is super straight, and I should not be shamed for it, just as they should be shamed for being trans.

What is this tangent? No one is asking what you think about commonly used terms like transphobia, no one cares about your sexuality, no one is saying you are scared of trans people.

This is about you supporting a clearly transphobic calendar. As a giggle for you and your bros.

I don’t accept that word, and please stop using it. It is an attempt to label people as mentally ill. It is weaponizing mental illness, which further stigmatizes people who are mentally ill.

I refuse to use it or participate when people use it. People with mental illnesses should not be mocked for your amusement.

This is very weaselly behaviour, trying to avoid a conversation about transphobia by pretending you think its a slur. It is not a slur and never has been, it is a label which denotes a prejudice and not a mental illness. No one anywhere believes it is a term of bigotry, and this a cowardly attempt to dodge talking about the issue.

It does not and never has denoted a mental illness, it is not defined as an irrational fear (anxiety disorder), it denotes an irrational dislike or prejudice (bigotry). Transphobes are bigots, people who call out their transphobia are not bigots. Arachnophobia is a mental disorder, Transphobia is a bigotry.

Also, how about you talk about you buying a calendar which engages in bigotry against trans people as a chuckle for you besties? Stop hiding behind excuses.

It is a slur. Read the history of the words and their use the law. It’s no joke. It’s something I take very serious.

Homophobia and transphobia were and are used in court as defense for murdering people. People have beat murder charges using those words.

I don’t find the calendar bigoted. I’m not as sensitive as you. I’m not one looking to be offended. If it’s not your flavor, don’t order one.

You are making up pearls to clutch, this is pitiful. There is no other way to process this except as evidence you are a transphobe. And worse, a transphobe who would dearly like to ban people from using that word because it hurts their feelings.

I am incredibly disappointed in you.
