You understand that without police, it’d be functionally legal to just kill you, right? Your only recourse would be bringing your own gun (or better yet, guns - there’s strength in numbers, bring a whole gang!) to the party.
And that can be an internally consistent worldview - many libertarians agree this exact premise, getting rid of police and encouraging everyone to get guns. But in my experience, anyone using the ACAB slogan isn’t a libertarian. Am I wrong? Are you seriously arguing in favor of Mad Max style anarchy?
First off, where did you see me advocate for a mad-max style anarchy?
Advocating for police abolition isn’t advocating for mad max style anarchy in any sense, and police aren’t what is preventing people from falling into mad-max style anarchy. Police abolitionists advocate for radical changes within how the government responds to things. For example, about 50% of people killed by cops have some kind of disability, which means that we clearly should not be sending cops to deal with mental health problems, yet we do anyways. Someone trained in dealing with mental health issues would be a MUCH better solution. Police abolitionists also advocate for addressing the causes of crime, rather than only dealing with what happens after the fact. Building strong communities, dealing with people who have unmet needs, among many more things. In short, no, I did not, argue for Mad Max style anarchy, and I don’t see where you could twist my words in such a way that would imply that unless you had some preconceived notions on that.
As an aside, I am a libertarian socialist, or more commonly an anarchist, and I’m very much pro gun. Even as a literal anarchist, I don’t advocate for mad-max style anarchy, because that’s not what anarchists believe.
