Why is this even in the privacy community? It says “public” right in the title, what did you expect? Public means public.

What a great data set to pull from, all the ignorant idiots on Facebook spouting off a bunch of bullshit. Just gonna get a Karen Ayo that complains and tells you your astrology horoscope and how it’s causing global warming.

I fucking hate Meta and any other privacy violating companies just as much the next sane person, but public data is public. Period. If people are stupid enough to post stuff they don’t want to be misused, then they shouldn’t even complain.

Let’s shit on Facebook for the privacy shithole it is, not for them training their brand new Sucky Zucky Lizard AI on public data.

Of all the privacy issues I’m worried of, this is one of the ones I care about the least. Have at it. Take my Lemmy posts aswell. I’ve knowingly put it out there for everyone to read.

I hope someone is training a super-powerful AI on all my posts around the net, so that all my memes will be passed on through it to future generations.

What if that already happened eons ago and you’re currently stuck in a digital twin of Earth circa 2023 reconstructed as best some future AI was able to from the memes the original jsdz left behind?

Not surprising and not a big deal at all imo. AI is the future, this is going to keep happening with all public content online.
