Do people think pilots are rich and powerful? I know a couple of pilots. They make about €90k a year and they are basically well qualified bus drivers.
The pilots I know are all working for the budget airline Ryanair (but not all with Irish contracts). I can’t say anything about what a pilot earns in the US.
They describe themselves as bus drivers. Yes, it’s more complex, there is a higher training level but not really skill. The biggest barrier is the cost of entry.
And being well above a national median salary hardly makes someone rich. Sure if you make 90k living in a backwater you might be better off than most people around you, but try buying a house in Dublin with a 90k salary

Dude, every word from you just sucks the life out of everything. You’re wrong on some points but it’s not worth bothering with you only to read more of this Forbes magazine text copy.

I was briefly confused as to why the PH level of thee pilots was improtant and then I realized it stood for pounds an hour.
ph - per hour, not pounds an hour :D
Because at 11 they’re pretty basic
Ba-dum-tiss.
Mmm, sexy bus drivers!
You’re kidding right?
Man, where to begin with this.
A. The pilots you know are making way more than most commercial pilots if those numbers aren’t made up.
B. Nearly 100K in USD a year IS A LOT OF MONEY to most people, certainly nothing to scoff at. Way more than the median US income.
C. You’re on fucking drugs if you legitimately believe that piloting a plan requires the same level of competency as driving a bus.
D. Who the fuck upvoted you?
Don’t you know about the cabal of high bus drivers that believe they’re on the level of pilots?
