I don’t think footballers ever deserve to be compared. It’s not flattering, it’s just more pressure.
Why can’t they just be appreciated for what they are? The narrative is that they need to be the next x or better than y, when they could just be enjoyed as the player they are, especially when the comparisons are often clumsy at best.
CR7 and Messi did this game after game for years and it became so normal to see their goal stats being close to one goal per game. Let Jude do this for at least a season before you guys start comparing him with players who did it for a decade or more.
