I genuinely cannot think of any midfielder in football history who was as good as him.

He’s the best player in the world at 20 years old with 13 goals and 3 assists playing as a midfielder for the biggest and most pressure club in the world with an incomplete squad at his disposal.

Its not even about goals but their importance, he’s winning games, equalizing scores all by himself and many times at the very last minute.

Considering his young age (20) and if he were to improve further on passing and tempo dictation, does he have a chance to go down as the most complete midfielder of all-time? (Matthaus probably holds that spot)

Fabregas was immense from age 16.

Gerrard 2000-01 (age 20) was on the verge of world class.

Ozil age 20-21 was world class.

    Loads more

would RM be willing to give up bellingham in exchange for one of those players? let’s say he’s not arguably world class level yet, but his “potential” is through the roof atm. and knowing how the careers of those players went, can we confidently say bellingham won’t surpass them? I personally would keep him, as I expect him to continue improving

I think we are witnessing something special. Alright I see people with the fabregas shouts and I get it. He was an unreal player from his debut, but as he got older, his star fainted a bit, until he went to Chelsea and had an unreal few seasons again.

I truly believe that if JB stays at Real Madrid, he will become synonymous with the words “Best Midfielder of the last 30 years”. At his age, the way he plays (he can do it all), the way he engages the crowd and gets them going, for England and RM, is so crazy.

A player truly beyond his years and if he doesn’t get any serious injuries, I think he will be due a Ballon’dor or two. Only issue is that he’s English and if he can’t deliver a trophy for the international side I very much feel it will be a black mark struck against his career…

Generational midfielder who came from Birmingham City, who’d have guessed that!

He’s very good but not great… yet.

He’s playing at top 2-3 best team in the world, with world class talent around him. It would be more of a surprise if he wasn’t successful.

See if he can do the same in a low or mid table team.

Maradona was comfortably better at that age. And will be comfortably better in five years time.

As great as Bellingham is, he’s not the best player in the world. Not yet. Someone like KDB is still a better player. Messi probably is still the better footballer. Mbappe and Haaland are still both better players right now. However, Bellingham’s ceiling is absolutely huge and he can probably surpass any of the above, bar Messi.

This is genuinely no slight on him, I agree that I can’t recall any midfielder at his age that was as complete as him etc. I just think he’s not the best in the world just yet. Probably top 5 or top 10.

Clarence Seedorf. Doesn’t have the scoring record but then Seedorf played further back and Jude is a number 10 at Madrid. He’s clearly great but judging him as a midfielder when he’s been asked to do other things is a little weird. He wasn’t great today but scored twice and won the game.

Clarence Seedorf was phenomenal. Seeing him do the stuff he did still brings the occasional tear to my eye.
