Huh? I haven’t seen that at all. They existed for years before there were all these instances, they weren’t even federated. They’d survive just as well on their own even if every instance blocked them.
The point I was making was less about activity within hexbear, more about their activity in other instances. In the instances they’re still federated with, I see fewer hexbear comments but instead comments from lemmy.ml and some others that sound like hexbear users.
Do you guys ever even hear yourselves? It’s almost impossible to mock you because it would be indistinguishable from the actual nonsense you come up with.
I like how you tried to make me feel uncomfortable by informing me that all the tankie dipshits laugh at me… MF, they call for me to be nuked based on skin color. Should I want their respect?! You’re delusional.
I seem to notice a lot of discussions about Hexbear. Since my instance preemptively defederated from you, I have some questions. What is the objective/goal of Hexbear? Currently, I kinda feel old 4chan trolling vibes.
Lol my instance has never been defederated from hexbear, which is, I’m guessing, why you signed up for lemm.ee also. I was mainly referring to hexbear activity outside of their own instance - even in instances that hexbear is still federated with, I see fewer hexbear comments than before they were defederated by world and SJW. Instead, I see new users from instances still federated with hexbear (eg lemmy.ml) talking like hexbear users.
More than anything, the thing that annoys me most about hexbear is the double standards. They claim to be open for discussion, but the majority of users are not, they behave childishly. The moderators are often far worse. Many posts openly encourage brigading, rather than just discussing an image of someone’s comment they want to criticise, they keep the username in and sometimes even include direct links.
Lemm.ee is a lovely place run by a top admin who really knows his stuff (he introduces new features early but also only when they work, and he was key in helping with some of the major issues that affected other intances, even though his instance was immune to begin with). I’m a little wary of hexbear infiltration but accept it, because that’s what having an open and widely federated instance is all about.
open discussion is for those who are there in good faith, there is no tolerance for liberalism.
You contradicted yourself before you even finished your sentence. How can you be open to good faith conversation when you jump to shut down conversations you don’t like?
I gotta say its a shame you a lib, you seem to actually stick to your guns even when it comes to us
Your bastardisation of terminology points to being part of a cult, you have a set of words that have specific meanings only held by your clique.
That’s exactly how I argue, I present ideas in the hope they will be challenged - because if I’m proven wrong I will come out knowing more than I went in. However, if you get shut down with cliquey slurs then there is no challenge nor anything productive from the conversation. In the sea of that I have had a few good, in depth conversations with a couple people on hexbear - but they get drowned out.
Censoring for bigotry, nazism, and various other things are often bullshit excuses. This isn’t unique to hexbear, though, you can see it in a lot of modlogs - the reason doesn’t match up with the comment. For example:
Removed Comment Would you like to explain exactly which aspect of my comment that stated, with evidence, that this event actually happened is misinformation? An event that absolutely happened and there’s not even anyone denying it happened including the DNC themselves? by
user
A big flaw in the modlog is you can’t always see which community or thread it was from. So half the time when you see “Rule x” or whatever given as the reason for a comment removal you can’t even tell which community’s rules was allegedly broken.
Hexbear at least do give reasons, but you end up with things like “xxx apologia” even when the comments have nothing to do with “xxx” or aren’t even supporting anything - the ban is for criticising things the mods are sensitive about.
you seem very mad about this when im not even hating on ya
Mostly I’m annoyed at the misuse of the term “lib” as some sort of childish dismissal, one that doesn’t hold up to real scrutiny. But, half the point of hurling it is to be annoying, so there isn’t really any point in trying to address it.
Hexbear activity seems to have dropped significantly since no one wants to be federated with them. Most of the users now lurk in other instances.

lol the instance that went unfederated for three years needs federation to be active okay

Stick to the echo chamber.
What’s nonsense about that comment?
If you ever want a good example of sealioning, here it is!
That’s not sealioning.
…where?

Lol you give a good example of what can be avoided by blocking tankie instances. Thanks for the meltdown.
