Yeah, so turns out that if you keep oppressing people and murdering their families you start spawning extremists.

Given the context, I don’t think it’s fair to call Ahed Tamimi an extremist. The IDF just bombed a pediatric cancer ward. This young woman just made an Instagram post.

If a rogue ethno-state kept denying my rights and killing my friends and family, I would also have some terrible things to say about them at the very least.

As a comfortable American whose tax dollars support the Israeli war machine, it is not my place to condemn Palestinian resistance, no matter what form it takes.

Hamas is more foreign proxies than actual Palestinian people’s resistance though.

I think liberation struggles often require international support. It’s not as if the Israeli occupiers don’t have foreign support either.

The difference is that Israel is acting to further the interests of Israeli citizens. Where as Hamas couldn’t give less of a fuck about their own civilian population.

I’m not sure if that’s true, but even if it is, I don’t see how it’s relevant. There were also fair criticisms to be made against the IRA and the ANC, but at the end of the day, someone has to fight the fight.

Yea, not a good idea making those kinds of comments to Israel. Or in general, good way to have every jew in the world immediately lose sympathy for you. Non-jews as well.

“From the river to the sea” has lost them all sympathy they would have been able to gather in Europe.

Thats not what is getting them support. They are receiving compassion and understanding in spite of this type of rhetoric, because of the treatment they’ve endured at the hands of the state of Israel. Not because of their vocal rage toward their oppressors.

So if this person is 21 now does that mean they were jailed at age 15?

Maybe it’s because I’m super old now but I can’t help feeling like if they were born into suburbia in a peaceful country they would be harmlessly edgelording on Rust or something instead of getting beaten up by a military force and receiving national headlines.
