DAE the FBI are good guys actually?
Lily Gladstone was awesome but totally underused - she’ll get a supporting actor nom at least.
Have we reached a stage where Jesse Plemons has surpassed Matt Damon?
Props to Scorcese for finally figuring out how to represent criminals without glorifying them after making movies for 50 years. Turns out they just had to live in the bad part of the country.
Some genuinely great or clever/creative shots every now and then
I didn’t know about the Osage (not a USIAN), appreciated the history. I wish the west wasn’t so white supremacist that the film could only be made if it’s about white people anyways.
The casting of the two lawyers was distracting, but also welcome - I think everyone likes seeing those guys do their thing, if you’re going to watch it don’t spoil it for yourself it’s quite a jarring moment in a good way.
Too long. I watch long movies. I’m the asshole who insists that the 2.5 hour cut of Carlos (2010) is incoherent trash and you really have to watch the 5.5 hour version for it to even make sense. This was too long.
3/7
Decent overall. Definitely to long. I understand trying to show the culture via the wedding, but, unnecessary. And the set up for what happens to Henry was certainly drawn out.
