I have Xfinity/Comcast and have had their XB3 gateway for quite a while. It delivers (wired and wirelessly) above the quoted speed for downloads (480 vs 400). However, upload speeds have always hovered between 11 and 13 gbps. I got an email from them that they would like to replace the gateway with a new one with higher upload speeds. (looks like an Arris? XP-7) Upload speeds are now averaging about 115 mbps, which is really handy for passing along large documents or sending them to the cloud. I don’t like renting from Xfinity. What modern gateways could I buy outright that would do this trick of higher upload speeds? I see this same gateway on Ebay, but every one is “not tested.” I prefer a gateway if possible instead of a separate modem and router because of the limited space I have for it. Thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks. I should have guessed that Xfinity/Comcast would put up barriers to ensure rental of their equipment.
