I get people love the playstyle of the Bundesliga, but why is it so often people just leave oceans of space against Bayern even at 0-0?

I’m so used to just seeing 10 men parked in their own half from 0’ onwards and how effective it can be and then I see stuff like this.

Bundesliga in general teams seem to play more forward, hence why it always averages a lot more goals per game than the other big leagues. I remember watching Heidenheim equalize against Dortmund earlier this season, and instead of parking the bus for 10 minutes, they went after all 3 points. It’s really a fun league to watch.

Right, but that’s part of the reason why Bayern has won the league so many times in a row. Sometimes you just have to know when the other club has a better bench than you do first XI and park the bus, try to snag a lucky goal, and get out of there.

Instead it’s Lewandoski, Kane, Muller looking like they are playing in charity matches.

Yeah. It’s concerning when Bayern don’t even look good (last year), try to give the league away, and end up winning anyway.

And then clubs go, well we’ve been pressing them for 11 years, maybe if we press them harder this year, somebody else will win.

And then Bayern hosts the trophy again.

Yes, they very much have been. Last season was the biggest hick-up they suffered in about a decade. And they recovered and still won the league.

I swear to god, every team in Germany has decided to play suicide ball. There is zero defensive balance. Almost every goal is like a 5 on 2 counter attack.

i firmly believe that we are in a time area where harry kane breaks the alltime bundesliga scoring record in his first season. to me that sounds plausible
