Obviously happy with the win, which is all that matters and Bijan is finally starting to get better usage, but it is yet another game under 20 touches for him. For context, here are players this year with more 20-touch games than Bijan:
Christian McCaffrey
Raheem Mostert
Brian Robinson
Josh Jacobs
Travis Etienne
Derrick Henry
Saquon Barkley
D’Andre Swift
Joe Mixon
Tony Pollard
Isaiah Pacheco
Rachaad White
James Cook
Kenneth Walker
Rhanondre Stevenson
Zack Moss
Javonte Williams
David Montgomery
Alvin Kamara
Kyren Williams
Austin Ekeler
Jonathan Taylor
That’s now 22 players with more 20-touch games than Bijan, and only Kyren Williams and Raheem Mostert are averaging more ypc.
Can’t help but think how much easier things would be if the team fed its best player more.
Who gives a fuck?
Its a team sport. If he got all the carries i guarantee you the yards per attempt drops by 2 yards.
They are all different types of running backs.
As long as theyre productive touches it doesn’t matter how many he gets. We have 3 great RB’s, let them all feast.
We are saving his knees. We are platooning him with 2 other backs. Know one should have an issue with his usage yesterday unless you are a fantasy degenerate
I think Bijan got the ball enough. You don’t want to run him into the ground. You want him to be effective for 2 contracts. Tyler and CP were both great and really the only time they got the ball was when Bijan needed a rest.
What a weird thing to complain about. As though an arbitrary number (20) would have changed things. We had a defensive TD otherwise he surely would have had more carries
Man, there are a lot of complaints I have with Arthur Smith, but this ain’t one of them.
First, rookies of all positions tend to hit the “rookie wall” late in the season, and if you’re trying to make the playoffs I can see why you might want to try to save him for the back half of the year.
Second, managing a RBs workload is about the toughest thing to know how to do correctly. Remember when everyone and their mother was saying that the Cowboys needed to ride Tony Pollard instead of splitting the carries with Zeke. I’m not saying that they were wrong or right, but this year Pollard isn’t half as dynamic as the below.
🤷🏻♂️
be honest – did you bet on bijan’s touches or yardage?
if you have 2 quarterbacks, you have no quarterback, as the saying goes…
but if you have 2 (or 3!) running backs, you have 2 (or 3!) fresh, healthy running backs! may they all remain bruising and electrifying well into the playoffs!
Kyle Pitts snap count (50% this week), targets all down again too. Seriously, what is the point of having him?
We ran the ball down their throats we don’t need Pitts in when we’re worried about blocking that’s been made very clear all year.
Cool…again what is the point of him getting 2-5 targets a game playing 50-60% of snaps? We should have traded him. Wasted draft capital. We best move him for whatever we can in offseason. Clearly he is not really in the plans as a featured guy in this offense. I am sure there would be some teams who have a coach with a clue how to use talented players who would give us a mid rd pick.
Pitts just isn’t that good. When was the last time he made a play that was exciting? His injury messed him up and he’s a liability blocking. Don’t be surprised when we trade him for a 4th or 5th. GMs don’t hold onto hype the way fanbases do.
So you’re finding reason to complain that we have 3 really solid RBs. Weird.
I mean he got 16 carries and 6 targets, so he still kinda got 20 touches, 2 of the passes were dumpoffs that he either didnt catch or were off target
