I have a legitimate question in good faith. Jalen Hurts in 2023 is having a pretty similar season to Dak Prescott in 2022 but Hurts is in the mvp combo, but dak was called ass after 2022.
In 2022 Dak played 12 regular games, 23 tds 15 ints, 66.2 comp rate, 7.3 ypa 2860 yards passing.
In 2023 Hurts through 11 games has 18 tds 10 ints, 67.6 comp rate, 7.5 ypa, 2697 yards
Those rates are pretty comparable. The obvious difference here is the rushing stats - which I’ll concede - however in context of operating as a passer - this sub was ready to run Dak out of the league, but this year with similar stats Hurts seems to be the odds on favorite for MVP.
What gives?

Bruh 🤦🏾♂️ L post
2022 stat comparisons weren’t even close for one.
But also those interceptions are big. In 2022, 3 of Daks interceptions were pick 6s. And if I recall correctly they were either in consecutive games or damn near close. There was a good stretch where it felt like Dak was going to throw at least 2 interceptions guaranteed per game and one of them probably was going to be a pick 6. Stuff like that, while still only counting for 1 interception each in the stat block goes a long way to making people feel like you’re trash regardless of any other stats you have.
People focus on the negative and when you have a consistent negative and aren’t really making up for it in any meaningful way the perception goes down.

You see, if we adjust
mahomesto the league average he is not that good of a quarterbackIf you remove the final quarter of the Superbowl, the Falcons already got their first ring.
