I just recently bought a new modem (not modem-router combo, just the modem) and a deco mesh router system. I’m mostly curious if I can use the Deco in access point mode as it is or would I need to get a separate router to use as the main source? Maybe possible to use one deco as the main and the other as an access point? I’m doubtful of that considering the settings seem to be all-or-nothing, just curious

I get up to 1Gb speeds but im only getting like 200Mbps in my bedroom upstairs which is where one of the deco routers is placed (one port coming from switch, the other port going directly to my computer). I’m curious if switching to AP mode will help, or maybe I have things wired wrong

I have a netgear modem that plugs into a 5-port switch, which then connects directly to 2 the deco routers. Considering plugging the modem directly to the downstairs router then running the second port to the switch. Idk I’m just in need of some advice on how to run this all

    This is the way.

    Modem> deco #1(router)>switch>deco #2>PC

IF YOU ARE GETTING LESS THAN 1GB HARDWIRED, double check your deco#2 is showing a hardwired connection to deco#1 in the app. Also double check your home wiring by labbing this setup with patch cables all in front of you.
