2/3 of the way through the 2023 season.

Who is your coach of the year? And why?.

It’ll go to whichever team overperforms the most. Honestly we as fans don’t understand how much of an impact a coach really has on a team. All we see is wins and losses. Behind the scenes is what really matters.

Personally, besides the record, that’s why I choose Sirianni (also, I’m a homer). But, he had the best record in the league after losing both OC and DC last year to head coaching jobs, and his new OC is already getting head coaching looks.

If Texans make the playoffs or especially if they somehow win the division, DeMeco.

Otherwise, Tomlin. It’s fucking crazy that the Steelers have a winning record.

DeMeco Ryans really has earned it. Before the season the Texans were expected to have a top 3 pick in the draft and now they’re a legit playoff contender

Outside of the obvious choices, I think Tomlin has been great. The dude has the least talented QB in the league and has won many games.

I’m obviously biased, but I find it crazy Mike Tomlin has never won this award.

Ironically I think he’s too consistent to win one. Voters love guys who dig their franchise out of the shit. Steelers are too competent to ever be in the shit. But you’re right he deserves one.

Mike Tomlin has been too busy putting together a hall of fame career to worry about coach of the year.

I’m married to a Steeler fan, so I’ve been watching him closely for a while now and I absolutely agree. I don’t think he’ll win it this year, but it’s amazing he’s never won one.

For the Vegas curious: Cambell +140 Ryans +300 McDaniel +450 Sirianni +1000 Tomlin +1200 Payton +1400

I’d bet on Ryans, personally. But if the Lions finish strong Cambell has a good case.

The obvious choice is Dmeco. Behind that, I think you have Dan Campbell. I think the runner ups if they can continue to win are Sean Payton and Matt Lafleur (homer pick, I know), but they’re big ifs.

It’s seriously crazy Tomlin has never won COTY, but every year he’s recognized as a great coach and his teams do better because of him.

Eagles have a chance to beat the Dolphins, Bills, Cowboys x2, Chiefs, and 49ers. Any coach that goes through that and comes out 6-0 deserves CotY imo
