        Wilfork played the ultimate “impact doesn’t show up on the box score” position.

        He’d eat up 2 blockers at a time and still move them out of the way allowing easier tackles for other players.

      I find it interesting that Robert Mathis has made it to the semifinalist stage three times already and John Abraham has had zero HOF momentum since he retired. The awards, the sacks, the approximate value, and the overall career impact all lean toward Abraham

      Same with Hester. I’d love to see them both get in. It’s the Pro Football HoF, not the skill position and edge rusher hall of fame.

          I always hated the HOF perspective on that. It’s 33% of the game, and you’re going to tell me that just because the player may not have “excelled” at a skilled position that they didn’t do enough? A kicker, punter and long snapper all have one job and they command roster spots for that reason. Why are returners looked over unless they did things in addition to the return game?

    Peppers and Gates are locks, and this feels like the year for Willis to finally get in. After those 3, I think they’ll be discussions about a lot of Wide Receivers right on the bubble.

    Peppers and Gates are easy ones, then there’s some backlog clearing. Those two, Holt, Wayne, and Jahri Evans. Evans was a monster for a stretch and there just aren’t enough interior linemen in the HOF.

      I think Willis is also an easy one.

      Defensive Rookie of the Year. 5x 1st team all pro. 7x pro bowl. 2x led the league in tackles.

      Only knock on him is he only played 8 seasons.

      there just aren’t enough interior linemen in the HOF.

      Players at positions that don’t get HoF love is becoming a Saints thing. Rickey Jackson getting in as a Strongside LB, Morten Andersen as a Kicker and Jahri as a Guard is starting to look like a trend.
