Im not much of a gamer (ironically I make games for a living) but I made a bet with my kids that if the Detroit Lions make the playoffs this year I’ll buy them a system, and its looking like almost a lock to happen, so I want to get in on some Holiday deals.
This is their first non-Nintendo system so I’m a little lost on which way to go at this point in the generation cycle. For reference they’re 7 and 9 year old boys and are gonna be new to gaming that isnt based around crafting or Italian brothers. (i made them use my old NES, then SNES first, then got them a Switch a couple years back)
Get them a Sega Master system. You never stipulated it had to the newest system out there, right?
Atari has entered the chat
And how many other consoles have 5 sonic games and most of them are actually good!
I think the Sega Master System only has one sonic game, a downgraded version. You’re thinking of the Genesis.
And best yet, with the converter pack they can ever play their games on the game gear!
I miss my game gear. Always wanted that TV addon for it, never could afford it.
Don’t forget to get them a ream of graph paper and a few pencils to go with their copy of Zillion
Streets of Rage 2 on Maina difficulty. Thats a game
That would actually be awesome. Mega drive was great fun.
Echo the dolphin anyone
Considering i seen them go for $120 back when ps3 was the new ps, may end up costing more, idk got no idea what a ps5 costs or a sega costs these days.
The 3d glasses are sure to wow the kids!! So fun!
Genesis Does!
Then get them the Sega CD add on with Night Trap and Sewer Shark!
If OP does this, those kids will never forgive or forget.
Uncle from another world vibes
Nah. Gotta go older then that. Sega Master System, the equivalent to the NES. My first console ever, (when I was six), and I still have more memories of my Dad playing it then I do.
Bought mine with babysitting money. I don’t remember many games I played on it, but I do remember playing the Michael Jackson game to the end. Don’t recall if I ever beat it though. And one other game that it came with, Alex the Kid.
