I’ll go first: playing with other people in multiplayer who are geographically close to you would be very fun.

Tired of lifeless open world with procedural generated garbage meant to waste your time as opposed to crafting a smaller world filled with interesting things to do.

Example Elden ring nailed it’s open world because it is packed full of handcrafted things.

Procedural generation gets a bad rap because of it being used for marketing instead of being a core part of the game. I’ve never heard anyone complain about Diablo 2’s maps, for example.

Some genres are just better for procedural generation than others. Like, for a Diablo-like, or a musou game, level design doesn’t actually matter all that much, so procedural generation is a great way to get more content.

There’s also games with pseudo-procedural generation like Warframe. That is, the individual rooms are all hand-crafted, but the combination and connections of those rooms are procedural. Meaning that it’s the best of both worlds.

90% of the playerbase of diablo 2 used maphacks back in the day because act 2 and 3 sucked so much.

To be honest, i found Elden Ring’s open world to be a lot of wasted and copy pasted space. Especially post-Lyndell feels kinda empty.
