      My life is fucking terrible right now, but I know full well that because of my skin color I have far far more opportunities than anyone who isn’t white (in America). White people have a lot more privilege to make commentary on things that don’t actually affect them, and they do it frequently. For us straight whites it’s often a political discussion, whereas for others it’s their literal lives at stake being discussed in the same vein people would debate science or the economy.

        There is literally a slur specifically aimed at white women (Karen). It’s okay in feminist circles to say that white women should shut up. And here’s a study that shows people also ethnically mark white women.

        I don’t think there is a group you can belong to that’s not stereotyped badly in some way.
