    The thing is, they aren’t doing this out of the goodness of there heart. They want you money and there own platform so they invest in there customers and Linux.

    That’s not a bad thing and having market incentives to do things for the community is very effective.

      2 things

      1: Thats why I said pretty fuckin close and not “Steam DOES” it isnt fully out of the goodness out of their heart

      2: As the majority of other businesses out there have shown, you can stay an economic powerhouse that rakes in shitloads of cash without going anywhere NEAR as far as steam has in order to make your customers happy. What steam does is over and beyond whats needed to maintain a strong customer base, it isnt JUST business sense why they do what they do, especially since steam is pretty garbage in some other categories like community communication, speed, and customer service, in ways that’d boost customer loyalty. I’m positive that a huge part of this is that since it’s employed by fellow gamers, we get these things because steams major employees want these things as well
