the lettuce should be on there
Ridiculous. She is trying it on.
Outgoing PMs routinely recommend people for honours - but Rishi Sunak had faced calls to block Ms Truss’s list.
Hmm fucking pig fucker.
Former Prime Minister Tony Blair did not issue a list by June 2007, apparently because of the “Cash for Honours scandal”.[3] Gordon Brown did not publish a resignation honours list either,[4][5] but a dissolution list was issued on his advice (to similar effect).[6]
David Cameron revived the practice in his Resignation Honours published in August 2016, following his resignation a month earlier.[7

Look at Brown’s dissolution list for gods’ sake, I haven’t counted exactly but a quick eyeball would seem it had more opposition appointments to Lords than Labour appointments.
Blair didn’t do it because he got caught showing the system up. So actually the last Labour list was issues in… 1976. In fact only two Labour PMs ever have done it, Atlee and Wilson. Whoever at the Downing Street press office who spins their shit really doesn’t want us to look up their claims.
I mean that just sounds like Blair not doing it (Blair being pretty much the only good PM in living memory again, colour me shocked)
Brown did effectively the same thing but he was voted out rather than resigning, as did Major although he had both dissolution and resignation, but in practice they can be treated as the same thing
This is the best summary I could come up with:
Ms Truss, who spent 49 days in office, nominated Conservative donor Jon Moynihan and ex-Vote Leave chief Matthew Elliott for seats in the Lords.
Willie Sullivan, senior director for campaigns at the Electoral Reform Society, said: "It will feel like an insult to many to see Liz Truss handing out peerages to friends and supporters after her disastrously short stint as prime minister.
Ms Truss, who campaigned to remain in the EU but later became a standard-bearer for the Brexit-supporting Tory right, said: “I am delighted these champions for the conservative causes of freedom, limited government and a proud and sovereign Britain have been suitably honoured.”
Labour’s shadow Cabinet Office minister Jonathan Ashworth said: "This list is proof positive of Rishi Sunak’s weakness and a slap in the face to working people who are paying the price of the Tories crashing the economy.
Deputy Lib Dem leader Daisy Cooper said: “Truss handing out gongs after blowing a hole in the public finances and leaving families reeling from spiralling mortgage costs calls this whole honours system into disrepute.”
Ms Truss has also handed out OBEs to her former Downing Street special advisers Sophie Jarvis and Shabbir Merali - and her South West Norfolk constituency party chairman David Hills.
The original article contains 757 words, the summary contains 207 words. Saved 73%. I’m a bot and I’m open source!
Liz Truss was probably my favourite PM. Hear me out.
Every day of her premiership I got up out of bed in a good mood, couldn’t wait to hear the news about how she’d fucked the dog the day before. Through various circumstances that I’m not sharing with the internet she did cost me a considerable amount of cash when she crashed the economy but she was just so entertaining. And she didn’t hang around like a fart in a space suit like certain unelected PMs I could mention. The moment when the lettuce outlasted her and a hand came from off-screen and placed a tiara on its head is one of the lasting delights of the last few years.
Britain traditions.
Keeping up the Tory lack of shame.
