“read” posts are now hidden, footer says BE: 0.19.1. I didn’t see any admin communication here nor any comments on the admin profiles. Is there another place to look for communication?
I came here to say I finally received reply notifications from lemm.ee users on activity between 1 and 4 days ago. Must be the federation issues being resolved somehow.
Yes, finally.
You can see here https://phiresky.github.io/lemmy-federation-state/site?domain=lemm.ee
Until tomorrow there were just 9 instances with no federation problem
It’s possible the admins configured a automatic restart cronjob.
Here’s what the admin from lemmy.today did to fix their federation issues. Not sure if @sunaurus@lemm.ee is aware of it or has tried it.
I just received comment replies from almost a week ago.
something is clearly happening because the server was unavailable for an hour or two, and now it’s very unstable but slowly getting better. it seems like we just got a quiet update.
I sure hope so. these federation issues were a real pain.
edit: 5 hours later, from what I can tell, most everything is back to normal as this instance is catching up with other instances in backlogged/cached federated activity. it seems to be caught up with most instances, still lagging with a few, notably lemmy.world by a couple of hours at least. I would imagine this will be mostly resolved within the net 12-24 hours.
A notice would have been nice, cause there was a bit of downtime, and then a few hours more of instability after coming back up.
However, as of now, for me, all the serious issues are resolved by 0.19.1, and the server performance in general seems to be a lot better than before" although there are still occasional timeouts in Jerboa.
Whatever the admin(s) did, it was effective and welcome. If you see this, thanks for your time and effort!
the server performance in general seems to be a lot better than before
For me it’s the opposite. All good, then I took a break around Nov/Dec, and now it’s a slug for more than a week already. Pages take second_s_ to load and sometimes don’t load at all.
I meant “before” as “when we were on 0.19.0”. Yeah, performance is still WAY worse than 0.18, but the changes that came with 0.19.1 are a noticabpe improvement over 0.19.0.
