Main thing is I get a notification on my phone when it’s done. I’m not always near my washer. Sometimes I forget. The times vary a lot by load size so a timer it’s as good. Saves me time and keeps my clothes from getting moldy
My dryer doesn’t stop at a set time. It stops once it thinks it’s dry. I don’t have a WiFi dryer, I have fucking stupid dryer. I always have to set it to dry again and having an alert on my phone come up to tell me that it’s “dry” would be nice so I don’t have damp clothes just sitting around needlessly.

Could always just use a timer or get one that rings a bell once it’s done.
