Under most definitions of racism that’s not true. Racism is usually defined as towards a minority or marginalized group. Discrimination toward the dominant group isn’t racism how it’s usually understood.

Conservatives are trying to redefine it, but that’s not the legal or academic definition anywhere where the courts haven’t been hijacked by conservative nutcases.

The original definition was “the theory that distinctive human characteristics and abilities are determined by race”. So saying “white people can’t dance” is racist, but “I ought to hire more black people” isn’t, by any definition.

Hahaha that’s some 1984 level thinking.

Racism is discrimination against someone because of race. Not because of race unless it’s a white guy.

You are going to argue if some serial killer was caught and it was a black guy that has been killing white men because in his words he hates white people. That would magically be not racist?

Have you read 1984? I’m not really following the 1984 reference.

Racism is about a belief in racial superiority or inferiority. So I guess it depends why the hypothetical serial killer hates white people.

Does he believe his race is superior to the white race and that’s why he’s killing white people, like a one man genocide? Then yes.

Winston Smith literal job is to change the history books. If we have been at war with Eastasia but then big brother says we have been at war with eurAsia and at peace with Eastasia then we have ALWAYS been at war with eurasia and peace with eastasia. So their can be no record of anything saying otherwise.

You’re making out the defintion has always been something it hasn’t.

Racism can be one race is better than the other. But the defintion of prejudice against a certain race due to the color of a persons skin has been in the dictionary for the duration of our lives I’m sure.

There is no way that it says racism: prejudice against a certain race due to the color of a persons skin unless that skin colour is white then its not racism

The problem is there’s a massive divide between racism and the colloquial racism. One is a discussion of how beliefs and systems disadvantage people based on the status of their birth. The other is being mean to people because of the color of their skin.

Sure, both are “bad”. But suggesting that they’re the same thing or have similiar impact is laughable.

The “racism” Elon is on about doesn’t exist, because people born into every potential benefit being unable to reap those benefits because we’re doing our best to change the system aren’t disadvantaged. But when you’ve been told your whole life that you deserve to win, you’re inclined to cry “cheat!” every time the system is changed to be more fair.
