    This is not uncommon in areas where wolves become accustomed to scavenging human corpses - which only really happens during war or famine. I was just hearing about this in the context of early modern French wolf attacks.

        Do note the primary weapon of that fight was “the pointy stick”, and not “152mm artillery”.
