I wish I was a fly on the wall when this idiot realizes how much he owes the towing company for storage and tow of his vehicle. How do people like this even become this way?

Those are vulnerable people that are often in some sort of financial trouble. Sovereign Citizens provide them with a fantasy where they can just cut off their debts and take take their lives in their own hands, but as we see here, it just puts them in an even worse situation. It’s fascinating to watch, but honestly also kind of sad.

It feels very predatory. They’re going after vulnerable, gullible people in crappy situations and then sell them magical fake license plates, IDs etc.

I’d feel bad for them if they didn’t try to use their “new powers” in bad faith so often. It’s not someone who wants to be left alone by everyone, it’s someone who thought they found a loophole through which they could go out, enter contracts, and then say “haha gotcha!” when it came time for them to honor their end of the deal.

Oh now that I see who owned it, I’m back to neutral on this situation. Behind the bastards did an episode on the unification church and its founder.

I guess the best case scenario might be one where they destroy each other.

Edit: Oh, I thought this reply was to my reply in the thread for that story, which is why it might seem like it’s jumping into the middle of a conversation.

But yeah, they sometimes do find real loopholes, but I think they are mostly trying to do what Trump does after hearing about how he just doesn’t pay his bills. But they don’t understand that Trump isn’t really exploiting loopholes as much as he’s exploiting the different standards rich grifters are held to, as long as they don’t grift other wealthy people.

I like the platform in that it’s a good way to stay in touch with long distance friends and family, but the way it runs is such trash. Should be publicly owned.

There’s no way to have a “publicly owned” Facebook. The pictures are a huge amount of data. You could chat with your family on Matrix and host your own pictures on your website, if you really wanted to.

But that sounds like work right? So why would someone else do that for you?

Oh that vehicle is gone, dude. By the time sovcit realizes their mistakes, the lien will be complete and the tow yard will have sold their car already.

Western society has prioritized consumerism over all else and has resulted in the creation of generations of people obsessed with what they are owed but completely unwilling to consider their responsibilities.
