Hello members of programming.dev! Currently weve got communities popping up that are being requested from https://programming.dev/post/5189 (if you want a community make sure to throw it in there)
If you want to mod one of the communities feel free to say so down below! In order for Lemmy to allow you to be modded you need to have a post in the community first as well
If you start running a community make sure to get some posts in there for people to interact with and get some activity going!
- Edit some communities now have hit two or more members of the mod team. If this is case you need to apply to those mods rather than me as im letting them handle how they want to run it
Hi :) I can help with C++
Also, would it be possible to add c/cpp_questions?
Alright ive added you. For cpp questions those can just go in the main community for now as there isnt much activity. If it makes sense to split up language community topics in the future when it grows then Ill look into doing so
Makes sense, thanks 👍
I have limited time but I’d be happy to help mod the functional programming community for now and share the load or hand it off later if/when it grows and other people express interest in helping out.
Alright, youre modded in the community
I’m quite active on both /r/ExperiencedDevs and /r/cscareerquestions
It looks like we have ExperiencedDevs, but happy to mod a cscareerquestions if you’re up to open it
Alright ExperiencedDevs still doesnt have a dedicated mod so thats open. In order to be modded on Lemmy you first need to have either a post or a comment in that community. Once you do one ill mod you over there if you want
For cscareerquestions there should be a similar community popping up soon once I get to making it. Its been requested in the requesting thread and should be making it soon
Thanks! Just left a lengthy reply in ExperiencedDevs :)
Alright ive added you as a mod in it
The cscareerquestions equivalent is up at https://programming.dev/c/ask_experienced_devs
Update: more specific cs careers one is at https://programming.dev/c/cs_career_questions
I know you have your hands really full, so when you have time and can create /c/teachprogramming and /c/learnprogramming I’ll try to be of help there.
Both communities are made at https://programming.dev/c/teach_programming and https://programming.dev/c/learn_programming (I adjusted the slug in the url to be snake case to match the rest of the communities)
Thank you! I Already commented on both communities.
Alright ive added you as a mod on both
Thanks!
Yep should be making them next, been working through my list. Once I get them up ill reply to you again and then you can make a post for me to mod you (since Lemmy requires that you have a post in the community to be modded)
@Ategon@programming.dev can we also get a
django
/Django
community? I’m happy to be an initial mod for it.I would love to be able to point people in this direction as one of r/django’s mods has chosen to step away due to Reddit’s recent actions.
Created at https://programming.dev/c/django, if you make a post in it ill mod you
Done
modded
On it!
I’m the only poster in c/java now so I’ll be a mod. I’ve never been a mod but happy to help.
Alright ive added you
I’ll do
/c/commandline
if you need someone.c/ommandline was right there…
Alright ive added you
I can help with Godot/game dev/Linux/rust/JavaScript/programmer humour. Idk if there is Haskell/bunjs right now
Hey, some of those already have more than two mods so you would need to contact the mods of them to ask (the people on the mod list that arent admins)
In terms of the ones that dont theres typescript, javascript, and gamedev. And then theres humor and godot which im one of the mods for. Any community you would want to be a mod for you just need either a comment or a post in it
Got it 👍
I’d be happy to help with c/java

How much does it pay? What are the hours?
I hear the last similar social media site had horrible pay, hours and in the end started to take heavily used features away from its users and was ran by a horrible CEO that looked like the embodiment of its platform.
I can mod c/android_dev and c/kotlin if required since that’s what my day primarily consists of, and those communities look lacking still, if needed.
Alright if you make either a post of a comment in the communities I can add you (Lemmy requires that for me to add)

Done and done!
