minus-squareFfaerieOxide@kbin.sociallinkfedilinkarrow-up1·3 months ago Depends on the country you’re in. Irrespective what country a person is in, what exactly are you suggesting be a crime? Is it just alcohol you have a problem with or should people be arrested for scratching a pig behind the ears or being women drivers?
minus-squareLath@kbin.earthlinkfedilinkarrow-up1·3 months agoDepends on the circumstances of a country. Laws should change according to society’s needs.
minus-squareFfaerieOxide@kbin.sociallinkfedilinkarrow-up1·3 months ago Laws should change according to society’s needs. Are you claiming people in different countries have different kidneys? “…basically poison that has to be filtered out and fucks up your liver and kidneys.” was the rational by which you defended the position alcohol should be illegalized.
minus-squareLath@kbin.earthlinkfedilinkarrow-up1·3 months ago Probably because they’re basically poison that has to be filtered out and fucks up your liver and kidneys. Do not filter out the words you do not wish to read.
minus-squareFfaerieOxide@kbin.sociallinkfedilinkarrow-up1·3 months ago Do not filter out the words you do not wish to read. You do the same: Pretty sure you’re allowed to poison yourself; why should it be a crime?
minus-squareLath@kbin.earthlinkfedilinkarrow-up1·3 months agoSometimes, but not in this case. Willingly and knowingly poisoning yourself for the sake of entertainment is a crime… against humanity. A personal freedom should not inflict its costs on others. Poisoning oneself does do that and as such should be curtailed where possible.

Being an oppressive dick about what people do to their own damn bodies is a bigger crime than getting drunk. A personal freedom should not inflict its costs on others. Drinking doesn’t.
